In the battle of big man on the big stage, Kaden Perry got the better of Crater’s Nate Bittle to lead the Tigers to win at the Moda Center in Portland.

Perry had 27 points and nine rebounds for the Tigers, who pulled away late.

“Kaden has a phenomenal game,” Battle Ground coach Manny Melo said. “Everything we did went through him, and he played his butt off. It was a great matchup with Bittle, who is like the No. 1 prospect in Oregon. … Kaden didn’t back down and went right at him.”

The 6-foot-10 Bittle finished with 18 points for Crater.

Brendan Beall added 17 points for Battle Ground, and Melo called Max Ramirez the X-factor for the Tigers, contributing a key 10 points.
