AARP Foundation Tax-Aide has kicked off volunteer recruitment for the 2020 tax season. Help is needed in a variety of volunteer roles including tax preparers, client relations, technical and management experts, and interpreters. Every-level experience is welcome, training is provided.

Evergreen School District and the Foundation for Vancouver Public Schools Lunch Buddy programs seek adult mentors for elementary school-age children. Volunteers spend 45 minutes a week with an identified student buddy, eating lunch, playing board games, chatting, reading or doing crafts. This is an at-school only program.

Kaiser Permanente Northwest is looking for volunteers to fill many roles. Hospice volunteers provide friendly visits for patients living in residential facilities. Friendly and individual dog owner volunteers with dogs that are trained and certified and have up-to-date certification are needed for pet-assisted therapy visit with hospice patients in residential facilities. Bereavement volunteers are needed to follow up with the family members of Kaiser Hospice after the death of their loved one with phone calls of emotional support. Home respite volunteers are needed to visit patients in their home so family caregivers can take a break. Clinic volunteers are needed to provide proactive support to patients and visitors while supporting needs of the staff. All opportunities require a commitment of two to four hours a week.

Shared Hope International is in search of some incredible elves to help thank amazing supporters for their help in ending domestic minor sex trafficking. If you’re a cheery volunteer who likes to listen to Christmas music, sip cocoa, eat snacks, and make phone calls of appreciation, then this volunteer activity is just for you. Days and shifts are available for this activity through the end of December.
