Boys basketball: La Center 66, Kalama 63

Hunter Ecklund made a go-ahead layup late, then sealed the win with two free throws as the Wildcats prevailed from a bumpy outing.

“It was one of those games where we were down most of the first three quarters,” La Center coach Jeremy Ecklund said. “We just couldn’t get it done. … Kalama just gave us fits.”

La Center went up 64-63 on Hunter Ecklund’s layup. After Kalama missed a shot, Ecklund hit two free throws before the Chinooks’ misfired on a 3-pointer with seven seconds to play.

Hunter Ball led the Wildcats with a game-high 19 points. Hunter Ecklund had 17 and Cedric Hubler finished with 16 points.
