The Plainsmen stayed close to the visitors from Beaverton, Ore., but a key stretch of turnovers hurt Evergreen down the stretch.

Coraleigh Speer scored 15 points for the Plainsmen, and Keyonna Canda added 10 points.

Evergreen got within 44-42, but three consecutive turnovers led to three Sunset baskets and the Apollos held on from there.
