Letter: Provide more time for lunch

By Amelia Seley, Vancouver
Published: December 23, 2019, 6:00am

At high schools all across town, students are unable to get their lunch in time for class. Schools offer a 30-minute lunch period in which students are expected to stand in the extremely long lines, collect their food, and sit down to eat it. Many students end up not getting lunch because they simply do not have enough time. Or they choose to stand in line and are late for class. We need to increase lunch times at our public schools so students are able to get food and not worry about being hungry or being late for class.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
