On Wednesday, Vancouver-based Council for the Homeless extended its severe weather alert for Clark County to Feb. 22. The alert prompts year-round shelters to expand capacity and urges additional winter weather shelters to open.

The National Weather Service’s forecast for Vancouver indicates several cloudy or rainy dates in the near future and a slight chance of snow showers Sunday night.

Those in need of shelter should call 360-695-9677. The Vancouver Navigation Center is open 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily at 2018 Grand Blvd. More information about warming centers can be found at http://211info.org/warmingcenters#clark.
