Boys basketball: Sumner 59, Skyview 56

AJ Andino had a game-high 25 points, including two free throws in the closing seconds to seal a 4A bi-district win for Sumner and ending Skyview’s season.

A tight game througout, Andino’s basket gave Sumner a 57-53 lead with 27 seconds left. Squeaky Johnson hit a 3-pointer to get Skyview within one with 17 seconds to play.

Andino then hit two free throws with 8.9 seconds to play, as Skyview’s last-ditch effort to tie the game fell short.

Jace Chatman, who had five 3-pointers, led Skyview with 19 points. Alex Schumacher added 14 points and Kyle Gruhler had 13 for the Storm, who were ranked No. 6 in the Class 4A RPI.
