Washougal’s Ross swims to runner-up finish at 2A state meet

Senior also placed third in the 200 freestyle

FEDERAL WAY — Washougal’s Isaiah Ross knew he’d have to swim the race of his life to beat No. 1 seed Holdon Ellsworth of Pullman at the 2A state boys swimming and diving championships.

The senior fell just short in a stellar race that saw Ellsworth pull ahead in the final few meters to win the 100-yard butterfly in 49.75
