So 45 avoids setting a bone-spurred foot in a combat zone during the entirety of the Vietnam War. Yet when he finally does visit a combat zone as our commander in chief, he takes the opportunity to lie to our men and woman in uniform about a pay raise (for the second time, the first time being to their spouses). He does not have the authority to give a 10 percent pay raise to the military. The people who serve in uniform do it with honor and integrity. Why is it too much to ask for 45 to do the same? This is far more serious than any of the daily casual lies he tells. If we can not trust the commander in chief to be honest with the service members risking their lives for us, then when can we trust him? What line does he have to cross before our representatives challenge him and put a stop to this threat to our democracy? I shall ask Jaime Herrera Beutler.
