Law enforcement agencies and officers in Clark and Skamania counties have wrapped up extra DUI patrols for the holiday season, an effort that resulted in nearly two dozen related arrests.

Of the 290 drivers pulled over in the two counties, 23 were arrested for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, or both, according to the Washington Traffic Safety Commission’s Target Zero program, the state’s program for eliminating traffic fatalities and serious injuries by 2030.

There were 29 other arrests not related to DUI, according to the safety commission.

Officers, deputies and troopers handed out 121 citations and left 166 other drivers with warnings, according to the provided data.

The heightened patrols lasted for more than two weeks, having started Dec. 14.
