Supporters of federal workers might not know that many contractors working for the federal government have been furloughed as well. Once the shutdown is over, federal workers will be back paid.
For many of them this downtime is a vacation. That won’t be the case for contractors.
They are the ones who should get our attention. I couldn’t find a single article which sheds a light on this disparity. My empathy goes out to them.
