Woodland’s electric third quarter wasn’t enough to overcome a lopsided first half in a loss to Mark Morris.

The Monarchs had 17 offensive rebounds in the first half and rode its second chance points to a 46-18 lead at half.

“We couldn’t stop the bleeding in the first half, second half we turned it around,” Beavers coach Andrew Johnson said.

Woodland held the Monarchs to four in the third quarter and cut the deficit to nine, but it was too little too late.

Tyler Flanagan had 18 points and Isaiah Flanagan added 11 for Woodland. Freshman Cole Logan (three points) scored his first career points. His jumper was assisted by Trace Logan, his older brother.

Rarey Sommer led Mark Morris with 21.

Monarchs coach Bill Bakamus picked up his 500th win with the program.
