Gaynor’s Automotive has purchased the former Swinehart’s Transmission in Orchards, making that the fifth of Gaynor’s Clark County locations.

“It is a reflection of the way the community has received our service and put their trust in us for the past 33 years, 34 next month,” Tom Gaynor, vice president of Gaynor’s Automotive, said in a news release. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The former Swinehart’s is at 13218 N.E. Fourth Plain Blvd., Vancouver. The 8,000-square-foot shop will be fitted with automotive repair equipment at its nine bays.

Gaynor’s Automotive, founded in 1986, also has shops in downtown Vancouver, Hazel Dell, Salmon Creek and Cascade Park.

Gaynor said his respect for Swinehart’s Transmission and owner Russ Swinehart was a big factor in his decision to acquire the business. Swinehart is retiring, Gaynor said.

With the addition of the fifth location, Gaynor’s Automotive will serve more than 2,000 customers a month, Gaynor said.
