A motorcyclist was hospitalized Monday morning following a three-vehicle crash in Battle Ground that shut down traffic in the area for several hours.

Firefighters, law enforcement and medics were dispatched shortly after 8 a.m. to the intersection of Southwest 10th Avenue and Eaton Boulevard. Two cars and a motorcycle were involved in the crash, Battle Ground police spokeswoman Bonnie Gilberti said.

“The debris went quite a ways,” Gilberti said.

A first responder reported that the motorcyclist was down in the road, according to emergency radio traffic monitored at The Columbian. The motorcyclist was taken to a local hospital for treatment, Gilberti said, and their condition was unknown Monday afternoon.

Additional information about the crash will be released as the investigation continues, Gilberti said.

The Washington State Department of Transportation responded to help with traffic, as police quickly shut down both lanes of 10th Avenue (state Highway 503) near the intersection. The road reopened around 12:45 p.m.
