Letter: U.S. reputation diminished

Resolutions are no longer enough. We need to stand with the minorities and people of color in this country and begin impeachment hearings now. If we allow Trump’s racist and bigoted remarks to go unchecked, we are essentially standing with him. We know his words and actions incite violence against the vulnerable; the significant increase in the number of hate crimes nationwide since his election clearly demonstrates that, as do his immigration policies. At the same time, our reputation in the world as a nation that promotes freedom, compassion and equal rights and opportunity for all people is being severely diminished. It’s time.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
