CENTRAL VANCOUVER — Old friends and classmates from St. Joseph Catholic School’s eighth-grade Class of 1969 were able to reconnect and celebrate at a 50th reunion on July 20 in the school’s Marian Hall. They had an afternoon social, a barbecue-style buffet dinner, classmate awards, a “Jeopardy”-style themed trivia game, and music from the 1960s. Former classmates traveled from India; Cairo, Egypt; Southern California; Phoenix, Ariz.; Coos Bay, Ore.; and the Seattle area to attend. The Rev. Gary Lazzeroni, Principal Mary Ellen LaRose and the reunion committee helped put the event together. Former seventh- and eighth-grade teacher Jeanne Becker Mack and her family were honored with a tribute song by Joe Schechla.
