Art galleries and local businesses celebrate this month’s art shows with a First Friday Art Walk in downtown Vancouver from 5 to 9 p.m. Visitors can enjoy opening receptions and light refreshments at art galleries, after-hours shopping, dining and drink specials, live music and other events. www.vdausa.org

First Fridays in Camas are themed, family-friendly events from 5 to 8 p.m. when galleries stay open late for artist receptions. Opening exhibits
“Alvaro Tarrago: A World Without Borders” through June 22, with a First Friday opening reception from 5 to 9 p.m. June 7, from 5 to 9 p.m. See the work of a this internationally exhibited, self-taught painter who has traveled the globe without the psychological constraint of borders. Tarrago’s work rejects preconceived notions of socio-political reality and revels in the spontaneous and naturalistic rendering of light and color. Angst Gallery, 1015 Main St., Vancouver. Collages by Sharon Nelson, through June, with an opening reception from 5 to 9 p.m. June 7 offering a chance to meet the artist.
