Letter: Heed will of the voters

Some political figureheads say “What Votes or Voters?” Reference is made to the ongoing work sessions of Clark County on lifting the ban of marijuana sales throughout the county. There should be no discussion on this matter.

Although the counties to the north legalized the sale, the residents of Clark County did not. Council Chair Eileen Quiring is honoring our votes by opposing the ban lift. There are enough selling establishments within the city for those people requiring marijuana for medical use or recreational desires.

Gov. Jay Inslee displays the same attitude toward the voters of Clark County. He ignores their votes on opposing tolls and light rail on the bridge.

Clark County did not carry him on his election, so he cares less about our votes. On the local level, however, our votes can make a difference in voting those people in who will honor our votes and insuring our votes matter.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
