Minnehaha — Furry Friends provided volunteer labor for the Acro-Cats shows held on May 25 and 26 at the Aladdin Theater in Portland.

The no-kill, all-volunteer cat rescue organization received a check for $1,562 for volunteering at the shows.

The funds will go to Furry Friends’ increasing medical budget for the cats. The Amazing Acro-Cats is a cat-based circus troupe founded by animal trainer Samantha Martin that also has a few other small animals.

The group features the musical band, the Rock-Cats, and tours the county about nine months a year. The Acro-Cats are based in Chicago.
