Fishing report June 27

Angling for summer steelhead is open in the Columbia River from the Astoria-Megler Bridge upstream to the Oregon/Washington border. The retention of Chinook and sockeye is prohibited.

Angling for shad is open from Buoy 10 upstream to the Oregon/Washington border.

White sturgeon retention is closed from Buoy 10 upstream to McNary Dam but remains an option for catch-and-release fishing. Anglers are reminded that spawning sanctuaries are currently in effect.

Panfish and bass are biting well in local lakes.

Trout fishing is fair in lowland lakes, good in high country lakes and streams.

Salmon/Steelhead

Columbia Mainstem

Buoy 10 upstream to Chief Joseph Dam: Effective until further notice, barbless hooks are now voluntary for salmon and steelhead directed fisheries.

Megler-Astoria Bridge upstream to Highway 395 Bridge at Pasco: Effective through June 30, the daily limit is two hatchery steelhead. Release all salmon. Effective July 1 through July 31, the daily limit is one hatchery steelhead. Salmon and steelhead night fishing closure. Release all salmon.

Hwy 395 Bridge at Pasco upstream to Priest Rapids Dam: Effective through Aug. 15, salmon and steelhead closed.

Columbia River Tributaries

Barbless hooks are voluntary for salmon and steelhead directed fisheries in some tributaries to the Columbia River from Buoy 10 to McNary Dam.

Wind River: Retention has reopened for salmon and steelhead from the mouth to 800 yards below Carson National Fish Hatchery. See regulations for retention details.

Drano Lake: Retention has reopened for salmon and steelhead in the area downstream of the markers on point of land downstream and across from Little White Salmon National fish hatchery and upstream of State Route 14 bridge. See regulations for retention details.

Klickitat River: Closed to salmon retention.

Salmon/Steelhead

Columbia River mainstem

Bonneville: 21 bank anglers released one chinook. Three boats/five anglers released one chinook and one steelhead.

Camas/Washougal: two boats/five anglers released one chinook and kept one steelhead.

Interstate 5: Seven bank anglers released one chinook. One boat/three anglers had no catch.

Vancouver: Two boats/ six anglers had no catch.

Woodland: 39 bank anglers released one chinook and one steelhead. Four boats/five anglers had no catch.

Kalama: 33 bank anglers had no catch. Three boats/six anglers had no catch.

Columbia River Tributaries

Cowlitz River, Interstate 5 Bridge downstream: five bank rods kept two steelhead.

Cowlitz River, above the Interstate 5 bridge: 10 bank rods had no catch. 38 boats/110 rods kept 42 steelhead and released one Chinook and three jacks.

Kalama River: 15 bank anglers had no catch.

Lewis River: 14 bank anglers had no catch. two boats/two rods had no catch.

Wind River: one boat/two rods had no catch.

Drano Lake: three boats/nine rods had no catch.

Klickitat below Fisher Hill Bridge: two bank anglers had no catch.

Klickitat above No. 5 Fishway: three bank anglers had no catch. Three boats/three rods had no catch.

Walleye

Camas-Washougal: one boat/four anglers kept four walleye and released two.

Recent trout stockings
