Moody wins Oregon Junior Amateur golf title

Huntington brothers finish 2nd in age groups

Graham Moody of Vancouver beat Eli Huntington of Camas to win the Boys 14-15 Championship Flight at the Bob Norquist Oregon Junior Amateur on Friday at Oswego Lake Country Club in Lake Oswego, Ore.

The all-Clark County final was set up when top-seed Moody, a golfer at Mountain View High School, and Huntington, a Camas High golfer, each won twice on Thursday.

Moody won his semifinal 3 and 2 over No. 13 Jonathan Scott, while Huntington advanced with a 7 and 5 win over No. 10 Arthur Vanderby.

In the Boys 16-18 Championship Flight final, Camas High golfer Owen Huntington lost to Nicholas Watts 5 and 4.

Huntington, the 25th seed, reached the final with a 20-hole win over Brandon Eyre in the semifinals on Thursday. He also had a 19-hole win over No. 8 seed Arnav Reddy in the first round.

The Oregon Golf Association event began on Monday with stroke play qualifying. Match play brackets began on Tuesday.
