A Skamokawa man died Sunday after losing control of a motorcycle on state Highway 503 in Cowlitz County.
Emergency crews responded shortly after 12:30 p.m. to the crash near Merwin Village Road. A 2003 Harley-Davidson was traveling southbound when the motorcyclist lost control on a curve and struck a guardrail, according to a Washington State Patrol press memo.
The motorcycle slid under the guardrail while the rider was tossed over it, according to the memo. The rider — Reese E. Gullickson, 84 — was taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center and pronounced dead.
The crash remains under investigation.
