Washougal — Washougal High School celebrated Career and Technical Education student successes and explored training opportunities in February as a part of national CTE Month. A goal of career and technical education is to increase graduation rates and prepare students for employment with learning related to career interests and workplace readiness with 21st century skills. Washougal’s programs offer classes spread across a variety of industries, including culinary classes, introductory medical careers and woodworking. Senior Dylan Corbitt plans to work as a chef and is following the Hospitality & Tourism pathway, and has taken culinary arts classes at the Cascadia Technical Academy Culinary, Baking and Pastry program. He also interns at Nuestra Mesa in Camas, working on dish and line prep.
