LONGVIEW — Columbia County sheriff’s deputies found the body of a woman on the side of Neer City Road in Rainier Wednesday after receiving a report just after noon, according to a press release from Sheriff Brian Pixley.
The body has been tentatively identified, the press release said, but the sheriff is withholding that information until the family has been notified.
Investigators from the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, the St. Helens Police Department, Scappoose Police Department and the Oregon State Police are on scene investigating, according to the release.
