WASHINGTON — A federal judge has set a November trial date for one of President Donald Trump’s longtime confidants, Roger Stone.

U.S. District Judge Amy Berman Jackson says Stone’s trial will begin Nov. 5. She says she expects it to last about two weeks.

The judge says she’s still considering whether Stone violated a court order with an introduction for his new book that criticizes special counsel Robert Mueller.

Stone has pleaded not guilty to charges he lied to Congress, engaged in witness tampering and obstructed a congressional investigation into possible coordination between Russia and Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign.

The charges stem from conversations Stone had during the campaign about WikiLeaks. That’s the anti-secrecy group that released material stolen from Democratic groups, including Hillary Clinton’s campaign.
