A Vancouver man was taken to the hospital Thursday night after crashing a motorcycle on Interstate 5 in Ridgefield.

Kyle M. Ulrich, 26, was riding the black and green 2016 Kawasaki ZX636 northbound around 6:30 p.m. in Ridgefield when he popped a wheelie, according to a Washington State Patrol news release. Ulrich lost control of the motorcycle and laid it down, according to the release.

Ulrich was taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center as a trauma patient but was in stable condition late Thursday, a hospital spokesman said. He was charged with negligent driving, according to the release.
