PORTLAND — Authorities say they arrested a man accused of sexually assaulting a child in a public bathroom.

KOIN reports that a 6-year-old boy said he was assaulted in a restroom at the Pioneer Place Mall in downtown Portland around 3:20 p.m. on March 17.

Officers released a photograph of the suspect and said local media coverage led to several tips that helped authorities identify the person.

A 30-year-old man was arrested Thursday and booked at the Multnomah County Detention Center on charges of first-degree sodomy and first-degree sex abuse.
