Eugene man, 72, accused of 11 felony sex crimes on children

EUGENE, Ore. — A 72-year-old Eugene man has been indicted by a Lane County secret grand jury on 11 felony sex charges involving four victims.

Steve Lesley Dory was arrested and booked into the Lane County Jail on Tuesday and arraigned Wednesday.

Dory is accused of sexually abusing four children between 2005 and 2012 and taking sexual photographs of the children, according to charging documents made public Wednesday.

Dory is charged with four counts of using a child in a display of sexually explicit conduct, six counts of first-degree sexual abuse and a single charge of first-degree sodomy. All 11 charges are Measure 11 offenses carrying mandatory minimum sentences. First-degree sodomy mandates eight years, four months; using a child in a display of sexually explicit conduct mandates five years, 10 months; first-degree sexual abuse mandates six years, three months.

Dory is expected to return to court May 1 for a pre-trial conference. He is incarcerated at the Lane County Jail.

According to state court records, Dory has no criminal history in Oregon.
