PacifiCorp is increasing fees at over 500 camping and picnicking sites starting April 1.
The increases, in most cases less than $2 a day, are charges for parking and camping. Over 400,000 visitors annually use the parks along the Lewis River.
PacifiCorp maintains 14 public parks and day-use facilities along three Lewis River impoundments, Lake Merwin, Yale Lake, and Swift Reservoir.
The fees are dedicated to maintaining and operating the parks. PacifiCorp charges recreation fees to offset the costs of providing visitor services:
Reservations made before April 1 will be charged at the former rates. After April 1, the new fees will apply for reservations or permits issued. To reserve a campsite, go to:

One chinook limits on Klickitat, Wind rivers
Starting April 1, anglers will be limited to one adult salmon in the lower sections of the Klickitat and Wind Rivers.
The catch limit will also switch to one adult salmon per day in the upper Klickitat beginning May 25, and in the upper portions of the Wind River on May 1.
State fishery managers said the lower limit is necessary to ensure that hatchery broodstock goals for spring chinook salmon are met. Previously, anglers could keep two salmon.
Preseason forecasts project a return of 1,100 adult spring chinook to the Klickitat River, and 2,800 to the Wind River, both well below the 10-year average.
Sections of the Klickitat and Wind rivers where the adult salmon daily limit is being reduced to one fish are listed below.
Klickitat River
• From the mouth (Burlington Northern Railroad Bridge) to Fisher Hill Bridge: effective April 1.
• From 400 feet upstream of #5 fishway to boundary markers below Klickitat Salmon Hatchery: Effective May 25.
Wind River
• From the mouth to 400 feet downstream of Shipherd Falls fish ladder: Effective April 1.
• From 100 feet above Shipherd Falls to 800 yards below Carson National Fish Hatchery: Effective May 1.
