1. Pick a winner

Celebrate the arrival of spring (finally!) by romping through the colorful blooms at Holland America Flower Gardens, 1066 S. Pekin Road, Woodland, during the Spring Tulip Celebration, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekends, March 30 through May 12. While this annual event has been scaled back from a full-on festival — there aren’t any vendors or live music this year — you can still pick your own tulips for 50 cents a stem, stop by the gift shop for garden art or Dutch treats, or simply wander among the picture-perfect tulip fields. 360-225-4512 or www.hollandamericaflowergardens.com

2. Patchwork paradise

See not one but two local quilt shows this weekend: Quiltfest Northwest Quilt and Fiber Arts Show, which began March 28 and continues 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 29 and 30 at the Clark County Event Center at the Fairgrounds,, 17402 N.E. Delfel Road, Ridgefield, with displays, vendors and workshops. Admission is $7, free for kids under 12; parking is $6 cash. On March 30 (10 a.m. to 4 p.m.) and 31 (noon to 4 p.m.), hop over to the North Clark Historical Museum Annual Quilt Show at 21416 N.E. 399th St., Amboy. Admission is free and guests can admire the artistry of quilter Mavis Kent, see quilts by the Chelatchie Quilters and bid on a raffle quilt. quiltfestnw.org or www.lewisriver.com/amboy/museum

3. Take the bitter with the sweet

Come to Boomerang Bistro, 808 Main St. B, Vancouver, from 6 to 9 p.m. March 29 to learn, taste and create amaro, a bittersweet Italian herbal liqueur. During Sip | Amaro, attendees will learn about amaro from Sara Newton, certified herbalist and beverage director at nearby Amaro’s Table. Newton will elaborate on the history of this fascinating drink as attendees sample several different varieties and then create their own. The $30 per person fee for this 21-and-older event includes amaro tasting, an amaro cocktail and amaro to take home. bmrng.org

4. Hearts and crafts

If you’d like to add a little flair to your home and garden while supporting a worthy cause, head over to Cascades Presbyterian Church, N.E. 86th St., Vancouver, where you’ll find a spring Craft Fair and Plant Sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 30. An array of vendors will be selling jewelry, hand-painted items, handmade Easter crafts and garden items — including plants, flowers and vegetables for you to put in your springtime garden. Proceeds from sales will benefit homeless and under-resourced families and schools in Clark County. www.caspres.org

5. Here today …

Angst Gallery, 1015 Main St., Vancouver, is hosting a Pop-Up Exhibit through March 30. The show, which began March 25, features painting, photography, 3D and mixed media art from Mosaic Arts Alliance, which operated the former Gallery 360 at the Slocum House. The public is invited to a reception at Angst Gallery 5 to 9 p.m. March 29, with complimentary refreshments.
