Light rain moved into Clark County in the afternoon Monday and as of 4 p.m. rainfall amounts were generally under a tenth of an inch, but I’m sure as things dry out today we will have had a quarter- to one-half inch of rain around the county.
As promised, high pressure builds in tonight and continues through Saturday. We will see some light east winds at times and also chilly nighttime lows in the 30s with frost. Outlying areas could see lows in the upper 20s.
Forecast models that I mentioned in Sunday’s column where a bit confused about the weather after this weekend. Now more are coming on board with a slight pattern change, with showers beginning Sunday and rain off and on Thanksgiving week. The good news is snow should fall in the Cascades with this pattern. Details aren’t clear yet about travels over the holiday, so stay tuned.
If the weather pattern doesn’t change soon, I would be worried as the month has been so dry. We would need a ton of rain in December to even catch up, but of course we don’t want flooding conditions, either.
