LONGVIEW — Cowlitz County sheriff’s deputies called the Portland Bomb Squad on Monday to handle suspected pipe bombs found in Kelso.
According to call logs, a man called 911 at about 10:50 a.m. to report what he believed to be homemade pipe bombs off Zillig Road.
The caller said he saw at least six devices, which he described as galvanized steel pipes, between four and six inches long, with plumbing caps.
He did not report seeing any wires, but he said one of the pipes appeared to have a hole drilled in it for a wick.
The Portland Bomb Squad responded to handle the devices. The Cowlitz County Sheriff’s Office was not immediately available for comment Tuesday.
