City of Vancouver is looking for trip planner volunteers to research, plan, organize and lead a minimum of two day trips each month to various attractions/events in or around Southwest Washington and Oregon for the 50+ Travel Program. Volunteer drivers familiar with (or willing to learn) the greater Portland/Vancouver metro area are also needed. Drivers accept two to three driving assignments per month, generally within a 120-mile radius of Vancouver. All Travel Program volunteers should have excellent interpersonal skills, be responsible and organized, be a great team participant, pass a criminal history check, and have a clean and current Washington driver’s license. Volunteers receive extensive orientation and training, and are asked to participate in a monthly team meeting.

Columbia Springs Environmental Center is seeking management volunteers to assist with the Repair Clark County events held throughout the year. Volunteer needs include runners, hosts, snack stewards, social media stewards, and interpreters (especially Spanish and Russian).

Washington Elementary seeks Walking School Bus volunteers to help students get to school safely and on time each morning rain or shine. Volunteers are needed to walk students to school in time to eat breakfast. The round-trip begins at 7:15 a.m. and ends around 7:50 a.m. Volunteers must be able to walk about one mile.

YWCA Clark County is seeking Court Appointed Special Advocate volunteers. These trained community members represent the best interests of a child placed in the foster care system, ensuring that the child’s voice is heard. The CASA gathers information, follows the child’s progress, monitors parents’ progress, facilitates positive communication and makes recommendations to the court based on their findings. Thirty hours of pre-service training and 12 hours of annual continuing education are provided.

Henrietta Lacks High School seeks donations for its holiday food drive from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today. The donation wish list includes turkey, steaks, pork chops, ground beef, chicken, canned fruits, canned meat, canned soups, potatoes, gravy, pasta, pasta sauce, stuffing, cereal, hot cereal, pancake mix, syrup, canned tomatoes, chili, salad dressings, ketchup, mustard, peanut butter, jelly, jam, winter clothes, blankets, and toiletries for men and women. There will be live music by DJ Flyby. Items may also be dropped off at Henrietta Lacks High School anytime Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 2:45 p.m.; ask for Lance.

Windermere Real Estate seeks donations for the Share the Warmth coat drive to benefit Safe Choice and Share House. Drop off coats and blankets at the Windermere offices from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. now until Dec. 18 at 12500 S.E. Second Circle Suite 205 and 210 E. 13th St. Suite 100.
