The Southwest Washington Contractors Association has joined several other Clark County-area business groups in opposing Initiative 976, a November ballot initiative that would cap licensing fees for vehicle tabs at $30.

The association announced its opposition in a press release on Wednesday, arguing that the initiative would negatively impact infrastructure and transportation development in Southwest Washington.

The move comes two days after the Greater Vancouver Chamber of Commerce, the Columbia River Economic Development Council and Identity Clark County released a joint statement announcing their own opposition to the initiative, citing similar arguments against it.

The Vancouver City Council also unanimously voted in August to oppose the initiative.
