A house fire Friday afternoon in Hazel Dell displaced two residents, according to Clark County Fire District 6.

Vancouver Fire Department and Fire District 6 crews were dispatched at 12:49 p.m. to the 3300 block of Northeast 82nd Street.

The first Vancouver fire engine to arrive found a fire with smoke pouring from the front door.

It took about 13 minutes to extinguish the blaze, according to the Vancouver Fire Department. No one was injured.

The fire was contained to a room and its contents, but there was smoke damage throughout the structure, said Ryan Reese, a captain-paramedic with Fire District 6.

The residents were not home at the time, Reese said, but a girl was there house-sitting. Red Cross was called in to help the home’s residents.

In total, six Vancouver Fire units and four Fire District 6 units responded.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Clark County Fire Marshal’s Office.
