4A GSHL football: Union 52, Battle Ground 6

Union’s victory over Battle Ground means that the reigning 4A state champions have secured a return to the playoffs.

The triumphant display gives the Titans an opportunity to share this year’s league title with Camas, as the two are set to battle it out in a league championship setting next Friday at Doc Harris.

“We feel good. We need to have a good week at practice, and be prepared. We’ll give them all we got,” said Jack Eggleston who averaged 17 yards per catch. He added, “if we take it week by week, we will be successful in the end.”

Quarterback Alex Gehrmann, embraced his role in the win tonight, completing 61 percent of his passes, throwing for 186 yards and two touchdowns. The junior was called upon following the injury suffered by starting quarterback, Caleb Jordan.

Isaiah Jones made his efforts known tonight, as the running back found himself in the endzone on three occasions.

Battle Ground’s Steven Hancock exploded for 179 yards on 23 carries. He claimed the lone touchdown for the Tigers.
