Letter: Herrera Beutler must be replaced

I received a propaganda brochure in the mail that claims that “Congresswoman Jaime Herrera Beutler is Working to Improve Access to Medicine.” Fact is, she has voted repeatedly to get rid of the Affordable Care Act. The only medical legislation she has supported is one she and her family personally benefit from, whilst working to deny millions of people access to health care.

She has been absent from her job numerous times. She supports Trump’s war on the separation of powers in our Constitution and his totally immoral, lawless behavior in almost every way possible. She hides from her constituency with fake “phone town halls.”

Our Founding Fathers, who propagated the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, most certainly did not have such a profiteer in mind as a representative of the people. Herrera Beutler needs to be replaced with someone who represents us, as opposed to herself and the special interests funding her.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
