The city of Ridgefield is seeking volunteers of all ages to clean up litter and marine debris along Lake River and in the river itself.

Volunteers are needed from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday at the boat launch, 5 Mill St., for the “Rake the River” cleanup.

All supplies and training will be provided. Parents or guardians must sign waivers for minors to participate.

Volunteers with boats or other watercraft who feel comfortable tackling a section of the river or the opposite river bank are welcomed to do so.

Volunteers can sign up at www.signupgenius.com/go/70a0d4eaaae2fa6fb6-rake, or simply show up at the boat launch ready to work.
