Letter: Herrera Beutler attempts distraction

By Charles Humble, Vancouver
Published: September 9, 2019, 6:00am

Our do-nothing Congresswoman Jaime Herrera Beutler certainly deserves an “E” for effort, but an “F” for everything else. She opposes affordable health care, stonewalls her constituents and continues to hold hands with the most corrupt, incompetent and disgraceful president in U.S. history.

But, there’s more. She’s just rolled out her latest strategy to distract from her own lack of success. She’s trying to drag Gov. Jay Inslee into her unwinnable brawl with Oregon over how the state pays for its much needed road improvements. She thinks residents of her district should be exempt from planned Oregon road tolls. Earth to Jaime: Oregon is responsible for maintaining those roads. Secondly, Gov. Jay Inslee is too smart to be sucked into her rathole on tolls. As she faces defeat in 2020, she’s becoming truly desperate.

Herrera not only lacks standing but also the basic competence to warrant an oar in this stream.
