Angels of God Pantry and Feeding Sites seeks volunteers to help in the food pantry or prepare and serve meals at its meal sites. Those helping in the preparation and serving of meals will need to acquire a food handler’s permit. Food pantry shifts are 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Wednesdays and Sundays; meal serving is from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. every weekday.

Meals on Wheels People is recruiting volunteers with four-wheel drive vehicles to deliver meals to the homebound elderly during snowy weather this coming winter. Drivers must be at least 18 years old, have a valid driver’s license, current auto insurance and own their car. All volunteers will undergo a background check. Snow and emergency drivers will be called upon only during inclement weather or when regular drivers are unable to drive due to vacation.

nCONNECT needs volunteers to help with a variety of tasks including resume workshops, mock interviews, or providing a career day opportunity at the volunteer’s place of business. Other opportunities including guides for site tours to high-demand career pathways, academic competition judges and mentors that meet one to four times with students. Locations and time commitments vary.

Shared Hope International seeks data-entry volunteers to help with record-keeping, tracking attendance at events, and making calls during thank-you drives.

The Marshall House, located on Officers Row and built in 1886 as the quarters for the post commander, seeks volunteers to greet visitors, give tours around the main floor of this historic building, answer the phone and decorate the house for different seasons. Volunteers are scheduled depending on their availability. Typically, shifts are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. or from 1 to 5 p.m. once a week.

Vancouver School District is in need of tutors in literacy and math and classroom assistants. Tutors may work with students one-on-one or in small groups. Classroom assistants provide assistance to teachers and staff in the classroom. Duties may include making charts, chaperoning field trips, school dances or sports activities, grading papers and making copies. Volunteers are asked to commit to at least one hour each week.
