A small fire damaged Julie’s Cottage Kitchen in Dollars Corner early Thursday morning.

A Clark County Fire and Rescue crew quickly responded around 4:36 a.m. to the restaurant at 21708 N.E. 72nd Ave. for the report of a commercial structure fire. Firefighters were there within a minute; CCFR Fire Station 26 is across the avenue from the restaurant.

Firefighters entered the smoky building and found a mostly-extinguished fire in the kitchen area, said Fire Chief John Nohr. The fire had melted a plastic water line, which sprayed water over the kitchen and stopped flames from spreading.

The extent of the damage caused by the fire and water is unknown, according to the fire chief. The restaurant will stay closed until repairs are made, he said. No one answered the phone at the restaurant later Thursday.

Other nearby fire departments also responded to assist with the fire.

The Clark County Fire Marshal is investigating what happened. Nohr said an employee arrived at 4:30 a.m. to prepare for the day when they opened the door, smelled and saw smoke and water flowing in the kitchen.
