Prep highlights: Hockinson golfers edge Washougal

Hockinson boys golf needed to make the most of all its shots in a 179-180 2A Greater St. Helens League victory over Washougal on Monday at Orchard Hills Country Club.

Greyson Cunningham earned medalist honors with a 6-over 40 and teammates Brecken Guinn (44), Jarrett Christenson (46) and John Dorotik (49) pushed the team to victory.

Washougal’s Chase Baldwin (42), Oliver Evers (43) and Gavin Tyacke (44) all went low.

Stars of the day

Elaina Tauialo, Washougal slowpitch, went 3 for 4 with two runs in the Panthers’ GSHL victory over Union.

Weslie Tran and Atharva Tyagi, Union boys tennis, outlasted Skyview’s Noah Mariotti and Elias Martin 7-6 (3), 4-6, 11-9 at third doubles in the 4A GSHL victory.

Mark Sanghera and Ryan Gruber, Ridgefield boys tennis, won 6-2, 7-5 at third doubles to help the Spudders eke out a win on sets in the 2A GSHL match.

Graham Moody, Mountain View boys golf, shot a 3-under 34 at Tri-Mountain Golf Course to help the Thunder to a 3A GSHL win over Prairie.

Allen Kim, Skyview boys golf, carded a 2-over 39 at Tri-Mountain to lead all golfers in the Storm’s 4A GSHL victory over Heritage.

Owen Huntington, Camas boys golf, was the lone golfer to shoot under par in the 4A GSHL win over Union, scoring a 2-under 34 at Camas Meadows in the blustery conditions.
