Letter: Support is appreciated

I want to extol the virtues of our community. I am a nurse at PeaceHealth and had the opportunity to interact with community members at the Emergency Department entrance.

In the short six hours I was literally on the front line, I was overwhelmed by the outpouring of support. First, a local teriyaki company donated three large boxes of delicious rice bowls for the hard workers in the ED. Next, a woman from the community drove up to drop off two boxes of gloves that she didn’t need. Then another person donated unused N95 masks, so very necessary in protecting the staff caring for the COVID-19 patients. A local clinic donated virus test kits. Finally, we, the entire staff of PeaceHealth, were treated to more than 40,000 tulips donated by Holland America Flowers of Woodland. So amazing!

I am extending a huge thank you to all of you for understanding and being part of the solution. We are working hard to meet your needs and it is nice to see the care reciprocated.
