Vancouver USA Pride canceled its popular Pride in the Park event slated for July 11 in Esther Short Park. The group also canceled related events planned to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community: a pride parade set for July 12 and a LGBTQ+ film festival set for the week of July 13.
In a news release, Vancouver USA Pride said it spoke with local agencies to provide the best outcome for all. With its events attracting a diversity of age groups and people with immune issues, the organization decided it was best to cancel all in-person events.
Vancouver USA Pride said it will hold virtual events, though definitive dates have not been set.
