Letter: You are paying for stimulus checks

By Terry McCann, Vancouver

If Trump is so desperate to have his name on the Economic Impact Payment checks there is one way to do it. Have him write the checks out of his own account. As it is now, we the citizens of the United States are the ones whose account the checks are coming out of. Don’t kid yourself. You are only getting a loan. That account has no money. The country is just going further into debt. The motive appears to have you associate his name with the check so you will vote for him in November.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
