A Vancouver man was arrested Saturday night in Sunriver, Ore., after he allegedly broke into two condominium units.

Shawn Michael Schmaltz, 32, was booked into the Deschutes County, Ore., Jail on suspicion of two counts of first-degree burglary and two counts of third-degree criminal mischief, according to a news release from the Sunriver Police Department.

Officers responded about 9 p.m. to the Eaglewood Condominiums for a report of a burglary in progress.

Upon arrival, officers found Schmaltz inside a unit and detained him. Officers said they learned that Schmaltz had also burglarized another unit. Neither residence was occupied at the time, the news release states.

Property from the burglaries was located on Schmaltz and inside his vehicle, police said.
