Letter: Protests are misguided

By David Irwin, Vancouver
Published: April 24, 2020, 6:00am

The funniest bit I’ve seen in my stay-home TV watching was Larry David going into a sushi bar wearing a MAGA hat so people would leave him alone. Sure enough, they shunned him like the plague. The joke continues, but is not quite as funny, with the flag-waving MAGA hatters at the protests to reopen businesses. It’s ludicrous that the American flag is used to represent the right to spread a deadly virus to fellow citizens. The health care workers and food providers actually deserve the flag-waving.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
