Letter: U.S. will have final say

So, Vladimir Putin is laughing at America’s current hardships, a situation he helped to create. He obviously knows nothing of American history. In the 1970 movie Tora Tora Tora, a somber Admiral Yamamoto warned the Japanese military celebrants after their attack at Pearl Harbor, “I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant.” He knew that, while down at the present, America would punch back stronger than ever. As we know, that punch-back happened in 1945 in Nagasaki and Hiroshima.

Putin has yet to personally experience his own American punch-back. When he does, I doubt he’ll still be laughing.
