One person was killed and five others were treated for minor injuries in a two-vehicle, head-on collision Sunday in Camas.

Northwest Lake Road near Lacamas Lane was closed just after 4:30 p.m. when a Mazda 6 sedan and Audi sedan collided. The Mazda was traveling west when it crossed the center line and struck the eastbound Audi, according to the Camas Police Department.

The lone occupant of the Mazda, identified as Jeffrey Baker, 43, of Vancouver, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Five people in the Audi suffered minor injuries and were taken to a hospital, where they were treated and released, according to a police news release.

The crash occurred near Heritage Park toward the southeast end of Lacamas Lake. Traffic from the northwest was diverted onto Northwest Lacamas Drive. Northwest Lake Road was closed for hours.

Emergency crews from the Camas-Washougal Fire Department responded to the scene, along with officers from the Camas Police Department.

No details on contributing causes to the crash or the identities of the injured victims were released.

The Clark County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Unit assisted Camas police with the investigation.
