Clark County Public Health reported five new COVID-19 cases — the lowest single weekday total in two months — and no new deaths Wednesday.

The new cases bring the county’s total to 2,330 to date. The number of deaths from COVID-19 is 45.

Wednesday’s total was the lowest single weekday tally since June 17, when three cases were reported.

There were 19 people hospitalized with COVID-19 and eight hospitalized awaiting test results, according to Public Health.

The new results were released along with a batch of updated demographic data showing the pandemic’s impact on various communities.

The demographic data shows that people in their 20s represent the highest percentage of confirmed COVID-19 cases, with 438 cases, or 19.1 percent of total cases. The next highest group was people in their 30s (415 cases, 18.2 percent), followed by people in their 40s (363 cases, 15.9 percent).

People in their 80s had the smallest number of cases (97, 4.1 percent), but they had the highest number of COVID-19 deaths (26 deaths, 57.8 percent). Children through age 9 represented the next lowest group, with 108 cases, or 4.6 percent of the total.

The updated results, including data on cases by race and ethnicity and ZIP code can be viewed at Public Health’s dedicated COVID-19 webpage.
